Entry doors provide passage between a house and an outdoor space or garage. These doors feature one or more panels that swing open and closed on hinges. Entry doors are made with a more durable construction. Common panel materials include aluminum, composite, fiberglass, steel, or wood. Unlike interior swinging doors, entry doors have weatherstripping and a threshold to provide protection from harsh weather conditions.
Entry doors are also equipped with keyed locks and deadbolts for home security. Many also have glass panels or transom and sidelight windows to allow for natural light and improved sightlines.
